Start Your Application

 

IMPORTANT:  Students wishing to apply to a summer, fall, spring, or full-year study abroad program must schedule an advising appointment with the CPE International staff in the Center for Professional Excellence before beginning an application on this site.  Applications submitted by students who have not completed an advising appointment will be withdrawn.

Students applying  to a J-term or short-term course should visit our Short-Term Opportunities page for up-to-date information and application instructions.  Applications will not be processed until the deposit check, passport copy or application copy, proof of registration, and unofficial transcript are handed in to the CPE.

Before beginning an application, you should plan to meet with any or all of the following people:

  • Your Academic Adviser can assist you in researching programs that will both benefit you academically and be of interest to you;

  • The Program Director of any EC Faculty-led program that interests you will be more than happy to offer details and insights about his or her program;

  • Gail Gilbert in CPE: International can give you additional information about financing, securing course credits and preparing for your ECabroad adventure during your individual initial advising appointment.


Letters of Recommendation

Most EC exchange partners and affiliated program providers of long-term experiences (summer, semester or full-year) require at least one letter of recommendation from a faculty member at EC.  If you are going to be studying in a foreign language, you will probably also be required to submit a language proficiency report.  Since each program provides you with application materials specific to its individual programs, you should NOT use the ECabroad website to request electronic recommendations from EC faculty members. 

Note: Students participating in J-term or short-term summer experiences led by EC faculty members are not required to submit recommendations, unless otherwise noted.

All of these activities will help you determine the program that best suits your needs and desires. Once you have determined the program to which you would like to apply, click on the "Programs" link on the top of the page to search for your program.  Then, click on "Apply Now" near the top of the page.  You will then create a login and password using your campus login information. 

You will be prompted to select the term for which you are applying. After you arrive at your ECabroad home page, you will have several areas to complete.  Click the links below to find descriptions of the various items that will support your application.
