Description of Faculty Directors
Constance Mixon Dr. Mixon is an Associate Professor of Political Science and Director of the Urban Studies Program at Elmhurst College. She has received the American Political Science Association's Phi Sigma Alpha Teaching Award, and in 2001 was named Illinois Professor of the Year by the Carnegie Foundation for Advancement of Teaching. Dr. Mixon specializes in global cities and frequently provides political analysis and commentary for Chicago and national media outlets.
Barbara Walsh Mary Barbara Walsh is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at Elmhurst College where she teaches courses on ancient, modern and contemporary political philosophy; American political thought; feminist political philosophy; and political justice. Her current research focuses on the intersections between liberal and feminist political philosophy.
