Program Description:

SPN/KIN 392- Walking the Camino de Santiago: An Intellectual and Physical Journey
Travel the "English Way" From Ferrol to Santiago

The Camino Inglés follows that of the medieval English Pilgrims (allowing of course for C21st. transportation).  We will fly to London, take a train to Portsmouth or Plymouth and then cross the English Channel to Spain by ferry. Once we reach Spain, we will “disembark” from our ferry from England and start the Camino Ingles from the Port of Ferrol. While we journey along this historically important religious and cultural route, students will be provided the opportunity to experience authentic Galician culture and trek through the lush, humid and temperate marine climate of the costal Northwest of Spain. As students walk along the historic Camino Ingles, they will be invited to experience the culture of the Celtic influence in this part of the world.
This course fulfills the Historical Analysis AOK and the Intercultural Global Engagement Tag. It also can be included as one of the required courses for the Spanish Minor or Major.

Price: $2,700 for air, ground, housing and meals.
Limited Financial AID is available. Application for financial aid MUST be completed by March 1, 2017/
