Jamaica
Course Description: This course will provide a multi-cultural approach to teaching and service learning, utilizing hands on activities in selected Jamaican schools, churches and community organizations. Music plays a fundamental role in Jamaica’s rich culture, and Jamaican music has influenced the entire world. By learning how the people in another culture express themselves musically, students not only gain insights into others but also learn about themselves. Students will learn to not only appreciate and value other cultures, but they will gain a fresh and more objective perspective from which to view their own culture. More specifically, they will discover that both joys and problems in schools and social institutions bring us closer together as humans. Jamaica
